I live near OKC and I have 3 bradford pear trees. One isn't doing so hot, but the other two are doing very well. It could have something to do with the severe drought that we have had this year. Trees like that just need more water than others and we have had very little. I would give them another year. Prune off the parts that are dead to give room for new growth in the spring. My neighbor did that last year and hers are doing pretty good. If that doesn't work, try a different tree. If you are looking for something that flowers in the spring like the bradford pear does, go with a dogwood. They are similar in size and are heartier. That's what I'm doing if mine doesn't do well next year.

Replace it. If you like the shape and look of the Pear, replace it with a European Hornbeam. If it must be a pear tree, replace it with a Cleveland Select Pear. They have a much more upright columnar growth pattern so it resists breaking. It still gets white flowers in the spring and leaves turn purple in the fall. The Bradford Pear is junk. Might as well replace it now because you will eventually.

have an arborist come in and look at the trees - you should get an honest answer from him/her about what to do. Also, who installed the trees? Did they have a warrantee? I work in a nursery on the other side of the country, but we ALWAYS inspect trees if a customer is not happy with its development. Maybe they will even replace them if the inspector can say its not the best tree for your site. Good luck!!

For despite all the beauty they lend to thousands of landscapes throughout the USA the trees are plagued with one fatal flaw: due to their combination of vigorous growth, weak wood and poor branch structure, they often begin falling apart after only 10 years.
Experts say homeowners and others would be far better off buying other trees – trees that lend beauty to the landscape and last longer

I agree with Michelle, Jacksonville NC planted 189 of them , one for every Marine killed in the Beirut bombing in 1983. Those trees were wonderful for about 5 yrs... but they are a disgrace now... all different sizes and shapes because they keep breaking... I say replace with a good hardwood tree... fruit trees, hybrid or not are not meant to be strong trees.

because of fact it rather is rather the opposite. Google "Clinton Blames Limbaugh for Oklahoma city Bombing" Then do the seek with Limbaugh blames Clinton for Oklahoma city Bombing. wager what, it rather is Limbaugh that condemns Clinton for suggested terrorist assaults. yet I concur, intense conservative radio courses which includes Limbaugh besides as information courses focused on the comparable purpose audience does convince others to lean too far off the "marvelous wing" scale. we ought to undergo in innovations, no matter in the adventure that your on the left, marvelous, or interior the midsection, there is somebody listening or watching that may no longer good of their innovations and could view what they have witnessed or discovered to apply in an intense occasion such because of fact the ok bombing, the Abortion health center bombings, Olympic bombings, or perhaps serial killers will make it a political fact which includes Manson, The Zodiac killer, and Son of Sam. Combining non secular and political matters to do psychotic retaliations. I do experience that the media has a duty while it consists of the commentators very own perspectives and the present sensationalism they use to appeal to visitors. at that element era, conservative and liberal radio became a huge controversy and rather became stirring up plenty discontent interior the inhabitants as an entire. Goldie - you're a hypocrit, what you suggested is additionally reversed as on your fact. you're nevertheless of the mentallity of "Do as I say, no longer as I do."
