I feel that depends very much on how well you enjoy the family business, and if working closely with other relatives will strain your relationships with these people. If you truly enjoy the work that you do, then absolutely get involved with the family business. My family ran a profitable business for a couple generations, but in my generation, the family business was more an obligation than anything we really wanted to do. The business was sold, and my sister and I have happily pursued other careers.

I started my own business when i was 19, at 23 i turned it into a family business and a year later i closed it down, so I'll say

Yes, learn all the aspects of it than when you are comfortable and confident move out on your own and start your own business. For sure learn how to run it and get the experience.

well, some people end up getting attached to the family business and continuing it on.
but if you have your own interests outside of the family business, go for it.
just cause your family wants you to continue the family business, doesn't mean you have to.

Well if its running than why not as you wouldnt have to work that hard read some business tips and articles on this site

I think it would be a great opportunity to work in the family business.
It keeps the name going. And you're part of that.
