I don't steal money. Just petty stuff when the opportunity presents itself. It's like I self-sabotoge because I get into trouble, and keep doing it. Have ruined high paying career. Have lost wife.

You need to seek out with some professional help. If you know that you have a problem but do not know how to stop there are professionals out there that can help you sort it out . But it looks like to me that you have already seen in yourself that you have a problem and thats the first step to getting better. Talk to somene professional is my best advice

just think to yourself, when you are stealing this stuff you have money in your pockets clothes on your back, you have a home with running water, electricity, heat, air conditioning, you've got it made. in other countries children have to take turns eating each day and live in dirt. So next time you are about to steal something ask yourself "Do I really need this."

When you steal things, you are trying (in a symbolic way), to give yourself love (in the form of material possessions) because you feel you are not getting love from people. It's called Kleptomania.

You should see a therapist, but there are also probably kleptomania support groups you could get involved with.
