I may not agree with everything going on today but I could never speak out against America, my home, my whole life. How can people be so critical of such a great history. Even her own citizens have fallen into the "Evil America" stereotype by believing everything they hear and forgetting about the good our country has done for the rest of the world. Whenever disaster strikes anywhere, the U.S. is there helping no matter which country it is in. The media and the stories they preach are ruining this country. They take advantage of the freedom they have by broadcasting only the bad and none of the good. What happened to the glory of America? Today the U.S. completed a brand new school in central Baghdad that will house and educate 3,000 children but that good deed was not even broadcast on any news I saw. Good deeds just don't make money, I guess.

I am pround to be an American, no doubt. I'm proud to live in a country where I can voice my opinion about the government as loudly as I want and I won't get arrested! I'm proud to live in a country made up all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds. I'm proud to live in a country where I'm entitled to have just as much success in life as any other hard working individual, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or religous beliefs. Those are the things I'm really thankful for.

I am proud to be an American but I am ashamed of what we as american citizens have allowed the crooks in washington do to this country. The time is now for all of us to stand up and take control of this country, before it is too late.
How do we do that? Mid-term elections are coming up in just a couple of months- go out and vote. If there is an independent or other third party candidate for any office on your ballot vote for him. There is no difference between the democrats and republicans. When was the last time an election campaign was run on real issues that confront us everyday and not some hot topic designed to distract people from the very real issues facing our country.

I am proud to be an American, but not proud of some of the things that are being done by America.

Of course I am,I'm proud of my country and most of the time I'm proud of her people.
The government is to blame not this country for the loss of respect from other nations.
But soon the people will speak once more and this time it will produce a better government one we can all take pride in again. America The Beautiful,Land of The Free

I'm not American, but I would be proud of some things if I were. Others, well, I would probably be ashamed of. I really don't get the whole patriot thing. You've got to be critical, and not a blind patriot. Nothing and/or no one is perfect.

Yes!!

People who say they aren't, are likely either communists or naive people who have never been outside the country to other places like Egypt or Korea.

Everyone should thank their lucky stars they live in the US. They should be grateful that the Founding Fathers were men of honor, who created an awesome system instead of just assuming power for themselves.
