Usually there is a regular Center-Avia flight 531 from Domodedovo (DMD) airport every Wednesday and Saturday.. One way tickets are from about $ 100 to $250 (depending on restrictions). However, the airport in Batumi is now undergoing a recostruction (will reopen after November 2006), so the plane flies to Kutaisi ( It takes about 2 hours, 30 minutes) and then passengers take a free transfer bus (another 1 hour and 20 minutes) along a beautiful mountain road.
I could not find information about trains.
You can also arrive by sea - there is a regular service from Sochi, Russia. Hydrofoil takes 6 hours (about $25) and regular ship takes 12 hours (about $55 on "Mikhail Svetlov" ship well-known to Russians by comedy Diamond Arm)

In a straight line, it is about 1591 Klms or 989 Miles from Moscow to Batumi on the coast of the Black Sea. Batumi has an airport and is also the last stop on the Trans-Caucasian rail-line. So I would presume you could either fly there from Moscow or take the train. As for cost, sorry I have no idea.
