It's a classic movie, i saw it a long time ago and don't remember any of the actors or characters name any more. I remember that the housekeeper was black and she had a daughter who was half black and half white but the daugher was ashamed of it and told everyone she was white. When he boyfriend found out the truth he hit her and dumped her. She was mad at her mother and went away to become a dancer or something. In the end her mother died and the daughter is at her funeral and regrets how she treated her mother.... so anyone knows the title? Thanks in advance.

"Imitation of Life" 1959 would classify it as a classic. ha

my sister and I saw this movie together within the last year or so. It's our thing; we watch old classics together.

that movie is called Imitation Of Life. It stars Lana Turner. I love that movie. It's such a good tearjerker. I felt sorry for the girl that wanted 2 b white at the end bcuz of how she treated her mom like crap. I wish they could make a remake of it but it could be set in the 1950s like in the old one. good movie!

imitation of life. lana turner and juanita moore played the main characters. there was also a movie that was a classic that had claudette colbert as one of the main characters. it started out in a small restaurant where the black lady flipped the pancakes in front of the window. probably had a similar name.
