I had Norton for a short time several years ago but I also had trouble with the PC slowing down. I had a friend tell me about another anti-virus program that is free to download and use called AVG get it from www.grisoft.com it will work even if you keep Norton it can also be set to update automatically if you have your PC on at the same time every day. I also recommend that you defragment your hard drives you may have lots of programs that can be deleted and free up space to help the PC run faster. Email me at moniquem71@yahoo.com if you want instuctions on how to do it.

Right Click on the Taskbar, choose Task Manager, and see what all is running on the processes, AND get rid of Norton, AVG Free Anti-Virus is more Protective than that piece of Crap Norton... And a whole lot less of a memory hog too........Good Luck

Delete temporary cookies. That was my problem most of thime until I learned. While online, go to1) "Tools" drop down list.2) Internet Options. That should bring you to "general" tab/page. See "Delete" cookies? click it. Another thing is to keep trach bin emptied. Are you Windows XP? They have a tool under Control Panel and Performance & Maintenance that helps. Lastly, close everything you're not using. Good luck, that should help some.

run more than NAV, try running adaware and spybot in safe mode
also try out hijackthis and see if there are any funny looking programs loading into memory.
I always recommend using Firefox instead of internet explorer... most bugs have a much harder time to get through with an unusual browser

It could be norton itself . . . Norton is known for taking up a lot of system resources.
I recommend checking your startup programs and processes.
For this I recommend a program called winpatrol, which makes it very easy to do that.

You can try to defrag your computer to make it run faster. Go to your control panel and switch it to category view if its not already, and click on Performance and Maintainance. Analyze and then defragment
