All children/pregnancies are different. What happened the first time won't necessarily happen the next. But....

The baby's face is supposed to be facing your back when it comes out. If the back of the baby's head is facing the back of your pelvis, it will hurt a lot more. There are several things you can do, or have someone else do to help relieve the pain. Having a doula is always a good idea. A doula is a woman with special training in childbirth. She stays with you throughout your entire labor. Sometimes applying pressure to the tailbone will help relieve the pain. If you notice the pain soon enough, you can shift positions to help rotate the baby so as to have a more comfortable delivery.

I guess it all depends on what caused your baby to be in the wrong direction. My seventh baby was in the wrong position also and caused back labor. I had never had back labor until she came along. She was also the only baby born in the wrong position.

I had back labor with my daughter but not with either of my sons. It just depends on the way the baby is facing.

It didn't with mine-it has to do with the baby's position and every pregnancy is different. Good luck!
