I love to fish..hunt..camp..cook..that must sound very redneckish, I love to do anything outdoors...
I would feel totally out of my element in New York...I don't think I would stand out. I don't think people would look at me and think she must be from Kentucky!

Some of my best friends are from Kentucky. Unlucky for you that Kentucky is the butt of many jokes. Hollywood has been very unkind to Kentucky as well. But you are home To FLWoutdoors , as well as Kentucky and Barkley lakes. Two of the hottest fishing lakes in the country. Many good people live there. I think you can find screwed up looking people in any state you choose to look.

Sadly, I do have sort of a bad image of people from Kentucky--I'm not a big fan of hillbillys, and I hate country music and Jack Daniels too, so there's a lot of negative stuff for me to overlook. I do like thoroughbred racing though, so the Derby is a plus for you. And I sort of like Stephen Foster's music.
I don't think you are all inbreeders, though--just not as sophisticated as people from the Northeast. Hey, maybe if you didn't vote Republican this November I'd change my mind.

Kentucky is a beautiful state I have been there many times, I've lived in New England for many years, so my only problem with the people of KY is that they are just too darn nice, it gets annoying, but other than that I think you guys are great.

I used to live in Kentucky and no I dont think all are inbreeds. However when you see some of the portrayals on TV (Springer and Blue Collar (yuk)) they give a very negative stereotype of Kentucky and other southern states.

Yes,sad to say I do see a difference in the people. I live just next door to Harlan county. I do not go there unless it is absolutely necessary. As soon as you go across the top of the mountain you feel like you're in a different world. The people(most of them)seem to be uneducated. They all seem to have at least 15 junk cars in front of their house or trailer. I am only talking about eastern counties of Kentucky. The farther west you go the better it gets. I know some of them work very hard in coal mines, and it does have many millionaires, because of the coal. Don't feel mad at me. Just telling you like I see it.
