Having a baby is a miracle. Not all miracles involve levitating houses or seas parting; some of them are small, but they are still miracles. A father is not a hero, a good father is a hero. Police officers put their lives on the line to keep citizens safe, and if you don't think that's a hero, you need help. You don't have to worship Bush and the military. That's the wonderful thing about America. And soldiers are the reason that you have the right to say such a ridiculous and disrespectful thing, and if you don't think that's a hero, you need a serious reality check.

How is a father a hero? Anyone can father a child, doesn't take a hero. That's like saying if you're a great man, even a President, if your infertile, YOU'RE NOBODY!
A soldier is NOT a hero, he's a soldier, in order to become a hero, he must meet certain criteria. Otherwise, all deserter's would still be considered hero's, thus confusing the system. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve respect, he most certainly does, but a hero, no. That's reserved for the elite, those who have proven themselves.
A cop is indeed a hero to me for the most part, just because HE NEVER KNOWS what to expect and his life is always on the line and he never knows when it might end. And its a thankless job. I consider firefighters in this category also.
Bush and the "military machine" deserve nothing that their actions haven't called for and their actions have so far been conniving and cheap.

Charles, Charles, Charles. When will you ever learn? Soldiers are NOT baby-killers. My husband is a soldier, and he has not killed even one baby. They ARE heroes (with a few exceptions) who serve their country with HONOR.
A father IS a hero. My dad was.
And no one ever said you MUST worship Bush. I don't worship him.
And having a baby is a miracle. If not, why is it that so many people have so many problems conceiving? You must have never witnessed a baby being born. I have, and despite the fact that it's one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen, it was also beautiful.
LIFE is beautiful.
I feel for you that you can't see this.
