Ok i was laptop hunting, and im down to two laptops.. basically because of budget restrictions. Ok should i buy a Toshiba satellite m105 for 900 , or a compaq presario v3000 for 1000?? The specs are similar except the compaq has 80 gigs of space, and toshiba has 100. I dont know.. people say toshibas heat up easily and go with compaq??? What do you people think?

I would go with the Toshiba. Their tech support is awesome. They are very well built. Yes, any of the top of the line laptops can probably use a cooler pad.

Staples just started carrying Toshiba, check it out. Costco has Toshiba. Wal-Mart has Toshiba. Go with a retailer that has an awesome 15 day to 30 day no hassle return policy.

What difference does that make? You think you gonna make full use of 100 Gig space? Toshiba & Sony has the best hardware. But if you're budget conscious, then opt for Compaq. I personally like Dell though.

Between the 2...go with Toshiba. But with a $1000 budget, you can probably get a nicer machine if you go with Dell.
