How long has Israel been around ?? as a Jewish settlement?

were they not all islam to begin with they say they are Gods chosen people when they do not even belive in jesus so how can they be the chosen people?? and how did they get in Israel to begin with ?? they are fighting over a small strip of land called the garsia strip witch they never owned to begin with can any one answer this for me ??

The state of Israel was created in 1948 when a mass movement of European Jews into the area coupled with Britain's disengagement from Palestine allowed for a Jewish state to be formed. Prior to that, there were Jews living there for time immemorial. The issue was just how many of them were there. Since the time of Christ, Palestine has been controlled by muti-theistic "pagans", Roman Christians, Muslim Arabs, Muslim Saracens, Muslim Turks, Franco-Germanic Christians (Crusaders), and the British Empire. Right now Israelis (Most of the time, but not all of the time this means Jewish) control the region and they are fighting because they and their displaced Palestinian neighbours (Again, most of the time, but not all the time meaning Muslim) can't agree on how to share the limited space and resources they have. It's not so much about ownership as it is plain ordinary about being able to live.

The Jewish people were there thousands of years ago, and were then conquered and forced out. They were once again given that piece of ground by international agreement in 1947 after the Nazis nearly exterminated them in the 30's and 40's, since it was apparent they could live no where in peace.

The very day the international force left, the people around them tried to invade, and planned to kill every man, woman, and child in that nation.

58 years later, the people around them still insist they will never rest until the last man; woman; and child in Israel is dead. In that 58 years, there has been attack after attack, terrorist, suicide bombers, Pearl Harbor sneak attacks; plane hijackings; buildings bombed.

Stupid people with no knowledge of history assume if Israel would just stop defending themselves, there would be peace. I can't believe anyone over age 5 could believe that countries that have attempted to kill all Jews for 58 years, and say again and again they will never stop trying to kill them, would suddenly become peaceful just because Israel stopped defending itself.

There are 6.3 million people in Israel, many of them Muslim, and israel is the only place where both groups live in peace.

They became a nation after the second world war and they do not practice Islam. It's not the garsia strip, it's the Gaza strip and I think you'd better catch on ur history before u call it a settlement.
