I don't think the current methods are really effective in stopping repeat offenders.

We have to be careful. What is a child molestor? We all think immediately of the dangerous, sick, vile, predator who grabs small kids and rapes them, then cuts up their bodies, and all that horrid stuff. Even if they don't kill them, those who really do horrid things to small kids, and can't seem to stop, yes, they should probably never see daylight again. There is no reason to expose innocent kids to them.

Last year, in Moline, Illinois, the city council was working on a law which deliberately created such a large zone around schools; kindergartens; day care facilities; and playgrounds that it was going to force all "sex offenders" out of town, probaby into the country.

The local prosecutor asked people to use some common sense. He told of a local man who had been convicted of sexual abuse of an underage girl, had gone to prison, served his time, and when he got out, the totally willing girl was now a woman, told her parents to go **** themselves, that she had always loved him, and resented the treatment he had received, and MARRIED HIM! Gosh, what a surprise that a 15 year old girl would fall in love with a 21 year old man and, gasp, have sex with him, who ever heard of such a thing!

Anyway, they now had several children, he was a stable married man, working and supporting his family, but due to our single-minded laws, he was also a registered sex offender, just like a baby-raper, and under this new law, he and his wife and children would be forced out of their own home.

life in prison. tho george carlin thought we might fence off utah, put all the sex offenders in there and let them have a go at each other. You're right, the current methods are ineffective. Once a person's a sociopath, we don't know how to give them a heart.

There is nothing really anyone can do. In my community they are starting to use the CHIPS program, home incarciration method. The molestor/sexoffender is allowed to remain at home but wear an ankle braclet that moniters their movement. Police stop by at random and the offender must work, stay out of trouble, and pay fees to use home incarciration. Requirments are they must update every 90 days and cannot live within 100 feet of churches, and schools. Usually the community or the person they offended is also warned of their intergration back into the community and this is enough by word of mouth and website w address and offence to police the offenders. Go to www.illinoissexoffenders.com type in zip code 61802 or champaing county and view pixs and offenses to see how it works.

Banishment from society for ever. Bad food through a hole in a wall. No daylight. Just my opinion though.
