He acts like he loves me, we have a good sex life, he has never complained. We have always been good friends and our friends envy our loving relationship. What went wrong?

You must be an emotional rollercoaster. 20 years together is a long time. There is obvious true love there. Men are different than women. I remember my college Psychology teacher saying Men cheat because they can and women cheat to make a decision. That was fifteen years ago and it rings true with every story I hear. Men dont normally cheat to leave their wife. There is always the exceptions, but mostly it is simply because they took flirting to far, the power trip of it all, I found that the more successful the man, that it isnt for any other reason but that they can, so they do. I am sure your husband has no thoughts on leaving you. Never the less the hurt you must feel. I hope that he is showing empathy towards you. I do feel for you. I am not a weekly church goer or a religous nut, but I believe that God helps everyone through times like what you are going through. God Bless you. If you find yourself not getting over it, divorce court will fall greatly in your favor for him giving you the STD. Talk to a lawyer. But then again I really think you love him. Good Luck!

It sounds like he had some sort of middle aged crisis. I know it sounds trite, but it's true. Men often have this problem, where women settle down as they get older. While women are vain in their appearance, men are worried they won't be able to please a woman as they get older. It's not an excuse by any means. He could have went sky diving to prove his age. It would have been safer then sex apparently. I'm sorry you've had to deal with this. I hope you can work things out. Good Luck to you. I wish you well in life and love.

your husband was not getting enough sex and occasional the kinky type. Give a man all he can handle pulse more and I promise he will be so pooped straying will not be a concern. passing STD to you is the lack of respect for you. It indicated he had sex with a filthy women. STD can be cured, but him being unfaithful will be hard for you to forgive. If you still have strong feelings for the man,then find a forgiving heart. He will work hard to make you feel loved and will attempt to regain your trust. Time is on your side, for getting an erections will be down hill.

Stupidity! Only he can give you an honest answer, and maybe not even him. We can only speculate. Maybe one of the answers you'll get here is from a brave male who will admit why he did it. Try asking your husband outright. Maybe he will tell you, but could you trust him if he did answer? Tough situation!
Remember: Don't blame yourself because he made a horrible choice. No matter what is going on between you two in and out the bedroom, there is no good excuse for cheating. Hope all works out and you find your answer, one way or another.

you are in denial, you can't have that great sex life and no complaints there are no 20 year marriage where there has been no complaints. So he probably did it for the obvious reason but you don't seem to be able to see the obvious.
