Were they absorbed into the grunge style of Nirvana, or something else...not just talking about bands, but people in general who were headbangers.

Good question. I simply grew up. Sounds cheesy I know, but right about the time the whole 80s thing was winding down, I was graduating and starting the next chapter in my life. I did the grunge Nirvana thing for awhile, but seemed to grow past that pretty quick as well.

My music tastes have changed thru the years. I love classic rock and country now, and thats pretty much all Ive listened to for the last 8 years or so. Ofcourse now, with a teenaged stepson, I'm being exposed to a whole new genre, and not so sure I like it. Im understanding my parents so much better now!

A lot of the people who were headbangers really hated grunge. A person who was a big Motley Crue fan most probably did not take well to Pearl Jam. I was exactly the opposite. I loathed the music of the eighties and the early nineties, in my opinion, gave us some of the greatest music of all time. Many of the hardcore headbangers are stuck in a 1990 time warp. They're happier there.

It would depend on the person. Some people are still stuck in the 80's, others found new music to like. And really to categorize all of them as has beens or washed-up, or druggies with nowhere jobs is just wrong. The music aperson listens to at a particular time in their lives does not define who they will be for their whole lives. I flirted with the whole 80's headbanger scene, (the things we do in the name of young love) but when all was said and done, I found myself going back to my punk roots where I stayed.

I'm a mom and wife, I own a restaurant, and I was a headbanger. I loved grunge, still do. I'm going to see Alice in Chains next month.

Old wrinkly druggies... who now work in an office. And not a nice big office either. The kind of office where the guy next to you is always asking to borrow your stapler.

Next question, what is going to happen to all the goths in 10 or 20 years???

Well I'm a grown up chem lab tech now.. but I still listen to my 80's metal, classic rock, alternative and some of the newer stuff that is really hard to classify into one genre. I'm not much on pop or country or christian music.

Probably drunks on the side of the street. In a mental institution or betty ford clinic. Or they might have grown out off it and started a family or become a good businessman or doctor. No one will ever know....

They grew up, got married, had a family and work. They drive minivans and go golfing and drink twisted teas on Saturday nights. They listen to country now, and like a little alternative music as well. They watch VH1 reality shows about their old idols and can't beleive they themselves wore there hair like that and wore leopard print.
At least my husband and his freinds anyway.
