It seems like people follow one of two schools of thought on this:
1. Drop lots more bombs (and/or nukes) on Arab countries and kill everyone that we think might be helping terrorism. (not going to work because it will just incite further violence)
2. Appease the terrorists and have a happy feelgood love session to try and make them happy so they won't hate us anymore. (never going to work because this will reinforce their terroristic behavior and send the message that terrorism works, thereby encouraging more of it)

Is there a third alternative?

I say ANARCHY, screw them all. Move me out to the country and let me be fully dependent on my self and the land around me. If I want to smoke pot then I will smoke it wherever I want. If I want to set up solar panels, windmills, and whatever else I have thought of for energy so be it. I can grow whatever food I want off my land and kill animals for meat (screw vegetarians). Now I don't care what anyone else does. I will refuse to pay taxes, it will be as if I don't exist. I will deal with cash only and sell what I grow and make for money or trade. At this point, terrorism or not, I don't really care. My brother will be out of the Marines in 4 months and since he was court martialled yesterday I really don't think that they will be calling him back as inactive reserve :o) he got popped on a UA.

Yeah, how about leaving them alone and not meddling in EVERYBODY's affairs. Another good idea would be to NOT impose our values and morals on everyone else. It would be good not to invade other countries for their wealth and resources (like oil) and then tell them that we are doing it for their own good. They will also appreciate the fact that we don't forcibly institute governments/rulers/leaders that support us but their own public hates them. NOT supporting terrorists groups when we need them and then call them terrorists and fascists when they turn against us, might also help us. If weapons weren't the only thing that the US exported, one could say that there might be hope for the world yet.

Yes. It's called non-violence. Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King and Mahatma Ghandi were famous proponents. It works.

YEAH, IT'S CALLED THE MEDIA, what is terrorism, what do they want, nothing but attention to themselves. When the media stops reporting their activities they will fade away.

#1 will work if there's nobody left after the nukes have been dropped.
