the only courses whose graduates might have something coming near a lifelike hazard of a action picture profession are NYU, USC and UCLA. long island and California are the states the place those careers are centred. inspite of the undeniable fact that, maximum graduates of even those stunning courses do no longer locate stable artwork in this very aggressive industry. of direction, there are some fortunate people who studied someplace else who do attain action picture, yet they're incredibly fewer than people who studied on the stunning 3 faculties. The UCLA software does no longer admit scholars till the junior twelve months of school and intensely virtually all those admitted began at UCLA as newcomers in yet another considerable or without putting forward a directly considerable. This software, like all different 2 mentioned above, is extremely aggressive and admission to any of those universities does no longer assure a place interior the action picture considerable, which demands separate acceptance.

We are doing the same thing now as our daughter also wants to be an actor and we live on the east coast too. someone mentioned NYU Tish. It is VERY expensive and VERY competative. Try Temple University. There are others in NY and surrounding areas too. Not sure why someone said Univ. of the Arts program is a joke. We visited there last year and it seemed very good except we got the impression that the academics were not very good as they barely talked about that and when they did it wasn't impressive.Good Luck!!!! If you find any write back. Thanks!

Do you have any actor friends in your area?
Do you attend any theater or film groups?
Asking about acting schools within your network of friends would be a better bet than asking on Yahoo Answers.
At least you didn't ask how to be a disney actor, and get to work with milly syrus.... Gawd, I hate that question.

Call up some of the local theatre companies, from the large to the small. Some offer classes themselves, but any of them shoudl be able to point you in the right direction.

There are more good schools but, you can't find them. Maybe a few miles away... Use Yahoo Maps... Anything that shows you directions to get around...
Schools may be hard to find... You can also ask your friends. While you go to far places to ask for directions to the location, you can also ask for school directions at the same time.
