It is obvious that many haven't gained the knowledge that appeasement doesn't work. Other than that, we have only gained the knowledge that the world doesn't care about America unless it needs it's butt saved.

A better knowledge of medicine, engineering and computers. We wouldn't be as advanced as we are now if it weren't for wars.

I believe that we gained independance from other countries. However, we can also sprout about the fact that we are allowed union representation.
