I think that you should do what makes you happy, this could be the opportunity of a life time, to many young people make decissions based upon girl f and bf when nine times out of ten the relationships go away and your left with OOH why did'nt I do this thing i wanted, I can understand her concer for you but this could be great for the both of you later on if the relationship continues. there are alot of advantages of the military providing you keep your nose clean and connect yourself wih career oriented people, I've had a husbAND IN THE NAVY ONE SON IN THE AIR FORCE ONE IN THE ARMY, I AM SO VERY PROUD OF THEM AND EVEN THOUGH I WORRIED IT GREW THEM UP AND GAVE THEM A GOOD START IN LIFE,, TRAINING, ETC SO THE FIST THING IS IF YOUR REALLY SERIOUS YOU BETTER START WITH BEING STRONG ENOUGH TO MAKE CHOICES FOR YOURSELF THE MILITARY IS THAT WAY, .. MAKE A DECISION FOR YOU... GOOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!! GO FOR IT !!!!!!

With a war going on I am surprised you'd feel this way and i commend you for it! Do you like being told what to do 24 hours a day? Because that's what it's like...and boot camp isn't a picnic. Talk to somebody whose in the army preferably not a RECRUITER! Good luck!
