I have both and really I didn't think that they hurt that bad.
Nose - I guess, well, when the needle went through my nose it felt like it pulled out all the nose hairs around it. And there is a stretching feeling, that is probably what hurts the worst.
Navel - This for me wasn't that bad. There was a lot of pressure when the needle went through but other than that the whole thing went pretty good.
Now the actual piercing is done with a needle so at some point they need to put the ring in and if they have trouble with that then you will probably feel the most uncomfortable.
Good luck and remember everyone has a different pain tolerance

I had my navel pierced, and like the others said-it was the clamp that hurt more than the piercing. I had it for about 2 years and it really never healed. Even then I thought it looked cool, but when I had my first child and my belly stretched during the pregnancy so did the piercing and it left a nasty looking scar! I ended up having to take it out.

my nose isn't pierced, but i've had my navel done twice. what hurts the most is when they clamp the skin around your navel to stop the blood flow... it hurrrrrrrrrts! the whole process takes less than 2 mins, but when they release the clamp and secure the jewelry you feel a burning/stinging sensation.
the process:
1) you go in, fill out paperwork
2) pick out the jewelry
3) they mark the area with ink to make sure it is aligned properly
4) clean the area with iodine
5) you lie down and they clamp the skin (sit for a min or two)
6) tell you to breathe... and they stick a 3-4 inch needle through your skin and put a cork on the end
7) pull the jewelry through and secure it
8) explain aftercare procedure
the first time i had my navel done, i had a ring in it. it constantly bled and never healed (i had it for 2 yrs). so, i took it out and let the area heal. i got it repierced and the guy who did it told me most ppl get infections with the ring, because it is exposed. he put a barbell in it and i've had it since 2003 with no problems at all.

It hurts somewhat greater, yet no longer something too undesirable. purely a speedy sharp pinch and you're achieved. The soreness for a nostril piercing would not final long in any respect. It in basic terms throbs for an hour or so afterwards and then that's it.

i got a bullring in my nose, not the little side of your nostril piercing that everyone gets and yes it hurt like death
i also had my bellybutton done, and while the actual piercing didnt hurt that much, the clamp hurt like hell go figure
and the bellybutton one never seemed to heal completely
i ended up taking all my piercings out years later, and i guess thats the good thing about them
you can go back
yknow, except for the littel keloids

i don't know how it feels getting your nose pierced. but i have had my belly pierced for over a year. it is actually a fast procedure. wat they do is they'll either have you stand or you can lay down, and they will mark where they will pierce with a marker. then they will use a tong to stretch your skin slightly(depending on your naval) when they pierce it, it is actually really fast. it didn't hurt me at all or my friends who got it done with me. it shouldn't hurt you but then it also depends on how you handle pain. wash your piercing with salt water, it heals faster. but don't go in the ocean for a while because the water is pretty bad these days! hope everything goes well!:)

I had my nose pierced. For me it did not hurt. I had Friend in college to pierce my nose. She iced it and then pushed the nose ring though. I did not feel a thing.

My bellybutton did not hurt at all. The clamp is the most painful part...and it doesn't hurt, it's just not something I would want to walk around with on my stomach all the time. Plus, bellybutton rings these days are super cute, definitely worth any pain you may feel.
