Because with the divorce rates in this country, it's clear that nothing lasts forever. It's hard to be a child today. We need to think more about the needs of our children, and less about our own personal desires.

Peace.

I think a lot of children lose hope and gain fear when they grow up because of parents.Parents are always working and may not have the time to show love and affection to the child. The child grows up with the feeling that the parent do not love them and therefore loose hope and self confident in their self.
Another reason maybe is the bullies at school. The child was mabey threatened and therefore fears to go elsewhere. The child parent is ma bey too busy to listen to child problems. The child nay think that if the parent don't love them who will? The child therefore grows up with fear.
Parents may not have to teach the child traditional, cultural and moral behaviors so the child becomes confused, and there fore lose hope and gain fear in the future.'_'

Because of the way they are raised, I mean they are probably brought up in poverty. If they don't get enough to eat, have a roof over their heads, and even have clothes to wear, or a place to stay clean, then they are going to be afraid if they will make it to the next day. Lots of times these children are abused because the parents get so frustrated and scared themselves, they take it out on their children. I watch the Feed the Children commercials and it is so pitiful watching those kids with no food, no water, no clothes, no medical care, and hardly a roof over their heads. I would lose all hope, too.

Because they are fed too much fantasy BS when they are children and part of this becomes their reality. All little girls are going to grow up and find prince charming and have a perfect boy and girl with a little white fence around their front yard.(BS) Parents too many times give children the illusion that life is easy, making money is easy, finding a perfect mates is easy, having good creadit is easy. And its not. Parents be real! Let them know that servers in restaurants make 2.13 an hour and they are relying on your tips to pay their bills because their parents didn't tell them how hard all of the Crap is. Yes as you can see I once was a tender sweet child that was turned bitter by this cruel world.

I believe fear replaces hope. Kids are taught to fear. Does not mean they are taught to fear the rights things. A little fear is good and can be used to push ahead. Parents need to learn how to teach children fear without deleting hope.

gain fear? everybody has fears of some kind. and children fear things too they dont just gain it one day when they are grown ups. and as for losing hope. they realize that all of the lies they have been fed for their whole lives are a bunch of BS. their whole lives they are told the can be whatever they want to be when they grow up and all kinds of other lies like that and then they find out one day that they wont be slim forever, they wont be astronauts or computer scientists or whatever else they wanted to be because in order to be those things they have to be smart which is something they will never be. and then they get depressed and want to die.

I believe that is has a lot to do with family and how that child is brought up. Children fear from the beginning. It is what they are taught to believe growing up as a child, that makes them fear. They sense their families fear, happiness, being sad, crying, all kinds of emotions.

Because they're often taught from a very young age that they're helpless which can creat a victim mentality. Also they're bombarded by images on t.v. that enforce the idea that the world is dangerous and there's nothing they can do to improve things. Which isn't true of course.
Many children are also abused which can cause a child to feel hopeless.

Well gaining fear... would be a good thing if it were TRUE.

In my experience too many young people remain FEARLESS... thinking that they are INDESTRUCTIBLE. They can't fall prey to bad people or drugs... or bad people giving them drugs. They discount the dangers of driving while under the influence and smoking...

No... I'm sorry... maybe they do lose child-like dreams i.e. hope, but FEAR is there to keep you alive. Many young children don't make it to ADULTHOOD, because they lack it.
