A marriage is a covenant. A covenant is an agreement between two people. I would say that once one person in a marriage no longer agrees with what the other person is doing, that breaks the marriage. So if having an affair is something one person in the marriage doesnt agree with, the marriage is already broken. And if its broken....it can possibly be mended, but both parties have to come into agreement again, by either bein open to adultery or by both parties agreein that adultery cannot exist in their marriage covenant.

Well it can if you both are willing to put the past behind you. The person who had an affair needs to know that it will take a very long time for the trust of their partner. They need to come home after work and stay home on the weekends from now on.

Well, most marriages didn't survive a short-term affair. I would say, the odds aren't good.

Two things have to happen, the affair must be terminated and the spouse who has suffered because of the cheater must be willing to forgive the act. Then time as to rebuild trust and fix the hurts!

If you both want it to work and are committed to making it work. But only if the person having the affair has completely given it up and the person having been cheated on can truly forgive the cheater.

My cuzin has been married for 10 yrs and dated him 3 yrs before they actually got married. Well she just found out that he was havign an affair with his x wife's daughter and it has been going on for over 1 1/2 yrs. Her husband lives in a whole different state then she does because she was going to school here. well she said if it gonna work out they have to get their wedding vows renewed and marriage counceling and they put everything in her name and he has to buy her a house twice as big as the one she has now. so its working out for them becuase he knew he did wrong and he loves her so much he wanted to make it up to her and all. so i think it can.

How long-term are we talking? If over a month, most likely not. unless you have a really forgiving man.
