If the person is an old man with dirty clothes and carrying a small dirty pillow asking you for just a quarter to get on the bus? And also some teenage boys asking you for a quarter just to buy a soda. And also a man asking you for just like 50 cents for him to go see a doctor? Do you think one should give money to them if they have the money and would you do that? If you don't do that when you have the money, would you be cruel, unkind and bad?? What do you think of these people asking for money?? And do you think one should help them out and would you?? Thanks.

Also, how come people are asking other people they don't know for money and don't think it is anything?? Even for people I know, I still wouldn't think of asking them for money, not to mention about those I don't know. I just wonder why these people don't feel ashamed or anything about asking others on the streets for money?

Never,

I refuse to give money to people who are capable of working for it. Those who are not cabable are taken care of by the government. SS is not much, but oh well. Tell them to lower thier standards

I will never give to someone who is begging on the street. There is no reason that they can not work and earn money. I work hard for my money, and I see no reason to give my money to someone who is too lazy to get up and work!

I am a firm believer in the old adage that if you want a helping hand, the best place to start looking is at the end of your arm.

If someone is working and trying, I may find a way to make their life easier. If they want something for nothing, they are out of luck!!

I used to give money, when I had it. I'd give it to a young person on a cold day in below zero weather for them to get inside for the night. Not everyone who looks healthy can work. Some people have mental illness or chronic pain and should be on disability, but they were denied.

For the old man, I would offer to buy him some coffee and a hamburger but not give the money.

Teenage boys, no.

Man wanting fifty-cents to see a doctor?! Hey, show ME that doctor who charges fifty-cents!! No, wouldn't give him money. Will offer to by him coffee and hamburger or something, and/or show him the way to a shelter where they can help him.

it depends on the situation. i might buy them something to eat or give them a ride. sometimes i think about god and give anyway, sometimes i tell them about the time i went to the shelter with my small daughter, had to get out every morning and look for a job with her right there with me. then when i did get job i had to give all my money to them in a money order and save for my own place. it really wasn't a bad deal. they can get a job a save them some money. especially if they are not handicap.

well i would give my money if i have it to the old man and the man who wants to go to the hospital but not to the teenage boys. i dont know why but i feel like they might be doing something wrong with it. so my ans is both yes and no. but ur not cruel if u dont have money to give them.

I don't see a problem with helping out a person who really needs money. Give only what you are comfortable giving. Remember God knows your heart. You will always be blessed when you need it most.

If a hungry man stops me on the street and asks for money, I would take him and feed him. There are a lot of hustlers out there that are not homeless, but can make you believe they are.

If I had extra money I'd give it to people who need it. If I only have enough for bus fare (or whatever) I'd let them beg someone else.

Nope ! I ask them if they're hungry ? if they say yes, i walk with them into a deli and say "What kind of sandwich ya want", soda ?
Then I buy them what ever kind of sandwich they want, "Ya want some cookies too", Here, have some coffee too.

I have absolutely "NO PROBLEM" with that, and I've done it before !
