It is the male.

Here is a quick little simplified lesson in genetics. Men carry XY choromosomes and females carry XX chromosomes.

Let us make a little chart and see all the possibilities:

+| X | Y |
--------------
X| xx | xy |
X| xx | xy |

That is why there is a 50% chance of a boy or a girl. The female always contributes the X chromose but from the male, the child can get either the x or the Y chromosome. If the child gets the X chromosome, the child will be a girl. If the child gets the Y chromosome from the father, the child will be a boy.

The baby's sex will be determined by whichever sperm hits it and fertilises it. Woman's eggs are only X chromosomes and Sperms can be either X or Y. 2 X's make a girl and XY makes a boy - so ultimately it is the man who determines the baby's gender.

This is so easy its the male who has the x and y chromosomes (which determines maleness) and the female has the double x chromosome (which determines femaleness). When the chromosomes split in half for fertilization and the two halves of sperm and ovum join up only the male can determine the sex of the baby.

it's the man. A woman just has the egg and the sperm carries either an X or Y chromosome that determines the sex of the baby.

Yes, technically, the male.

Women have XX chromosome, while men have XY. Since the women always gives an X to their baby, the only factor would be if the man gave an X (to make a girl) or Y (to make a boy).

Yes, the gender chromosome is held on the sperm. So the gender is determined by the father. Typically, the higher the sperm count the better chances for a boy.
