This is easy. Just round off:
26+240+800+4+1=1071 approximately
or even (rounding off to the nearest 5)
25+250+800+5+0=1080 approximately
For the second one:
6000x8000=48,000,000 approximately

I would round up those numbers that end 5 or above, and keep unchanged (but drop numbers after decimal point) those that are 4 and below. For example, 25.78 would become 26, but 240.22 would stay 240. Once you have these nice round numbers it's easier to add them up.
