Depends what you mean by "things".
P.S. Don't you mean "How much DO things cost in Cuba?"

Things like souvenir's are very cheap, cigars and rum should always be bought off proper traders and you have to have certification to bring cigars out of Cuba, art work also requires certification to be brought out too, no problem though as the traders will give you a proper certificate with no cost to you, we were in Cuba in April this year, we bought 2 wooden cars, 3 cigar boxes, large ones, 3 purses, leather, 3 wallets, leather, 1 handbag, leather, several pieces of jewellery, 2 pieces of artwork and 10 Cohiba cigars all for less than £100, we only took £500 to spend for the whole fortnight, bought all the stuff we did and went on two trips, gave lots of tips to the staff and still had £120 left by the time we got to the airport in Cuba, very good value for money, you take Sterling with you and exchange it as and when in your hotel, good rates and you don't get ripped off, remember to save 25 pesos as you pay to come out of Cuba, take all your own toiletries with you, they are the one thing that are very expensive in the hotels and in the shops if they do sell them, take some anti histamines too, don't forget to do from you knees downwards with mossie spray each evening before you go out as the sand flies love to have a field day on your legs, mossie spray stops it, have a brilliant time too, good luck.

On the tourist spots, it is much more the same, but as if you are a local / resident there, things there are very, very cheap.
As a tourist, last year, an imported beer like Heineken cost 3 Convertible (Cuban tourist peso equivalent as the Euro).
Getting into Bars, entrance fee's worth was around 5 to 10 Euros.
While food is cheap, a big plate of mixed pizza was about 1.5 Euro - 3 Euro.
Local products are cheap, while imported ones are from "fair" to "expensive".

things are reasonable in tourist area, if you are going on holiday however you will need to take MOST toiletries as they are not widely sold,, it is a very strange Country and they have very many restrictions on what they can and cannot buy, cigars (obvioulsy) are sold there, far more than anything else!! when you buy a car in Cuba it IS for life,,, or you have to have permission to sell it, then 40 per cent you have to pay to the government,,, but you are not allowed to buy a replacement!!
i had great time there, but would i go back NO!!!

Things cost the same in real terms in any country in the world. this is a result of supply and demand. so if u only have 5 pence, and everybody else has a packet of cigs, that is what you wiil pay for a packet.

most things are cheap, but you don't really need much spending money at all if you go there, other than trips and tips (optional) you don't need to spending nothing at all
