I See a Darkness, it's about the passage of time in a friendship and the struggle against the darkness that threatens to overwhelm us in spite of those brightest of lights that shine in our lives as frienships and just how much a comfort those friends really are. It's on Johnny Cash's American III Solitary Man CD.
Sorry if you were looking for happy songs only however, it's definitly worth a listen.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel is the best song about frienship. Although it really doesn't mention the word friendship,it really doesn't have to. Listen to it. You might like it!
