Yes, it's a ride called "Spaceship Earth." You can't walk around though, you have to go on the ride.
Another interesting fact - that is the only geodesic sphere in the world. Most are just partial domes.

You sure can. A good thing to keep in mind is that this ride has allot of late 70s and 1980s technology as a result some people feel a little let down because of some of the high tech rides like mission space.
Some folks that have answered your question tell of the "gutter system and the fact that it-is really a sphere", good points to be sure. But before you go to Epcot read up in a library or do some safe surfing on the web and check out what rides and technology was like in the late 70s and 1980s.
That's when you'll see what was and is so special about Epcot in general.
Think of it as a "window to the past, and a view to the future".

There is a ride in it called "Spaceship Earth" about the history in technology in communication. I also remember there being an interactive part at the end of the ride sponsored by AT &T, but that has been closed for a while. Siemens is sponsoring it now and by the looks of it they are going to be installing some more interactive communication booths for guests to play with.
Here's a fun fact about the Geosphere: Have you ever noticed how when it rains water doesn't come pouring down underneath the ball like it would naturally? That is because the sphere is porous and the water is moved out of it through the base.
Also, at the very top there is a trap door where they sometimes film Mickey Mouse standing as they fly over.

Are you asking with regard to the superb Walt Disney international hotel interior the Epcot section? The hotels interior the Epcot section are Disney's coastline club hotel, Disney's Boardwalk lodge, Disney's Yacht club hotel, the Walt Disney international Dolphin, and the Walt Disney international Swan. i think of the coastline club hotel is gorgeous! possibly that's in simple terms by using fact it rather is New England themed and that i'm from New England. i've got in no way stayed there, however. The Boardwalk lodge is likewise very large, and the Boardwalk, with many super shops and eating places, is in basic terms a quick walk away. all the Epcot hotels have a walkway that leads superb suited to Epcot and the Disney-MGM Studios that's handy. regardless of if, i've got not stayed at any of the Epcot hotels. I stay at Disney's Polynesian hotel, that's a Magic Kingdom hotel with get admission to to the monorail. it rather is the main attractive hotel on property and has the utmost customer return cost of any of the Disney hotels.

Yes, that's one of my favorite rides. I just got back from Walt Disney World today and went to Epcot twice. It's called the "Geosphere" and there's a ride called "Spaceship Earth" in it. It's a slow-moving, 16-minute long ride showing all the technological advancments in communication since man came to be. It seems like it's boring, but it's quite interesting, especially when it gets into the part of future advancements. And it's really cool because there's a large collection of very well done Audio Animatronics.
* NOTE * The Geosphere isn't really much of a sphere. It's not rounded at all. It's made up of thousands of triangles, and that's why the rain doesn't just fall to the underside of the Geosphere. The triangles create a gutter system and it is drained into the World Showcase Lagoon.
