Well, Woodchucks can chuck around 35 cubic feet of dirt in the course of digging a burrow. So in reason if a woodchuck could chuck 35 cubic feet of dirt he could chuck an equivalence of 700 pounds of wood. In a more logical sense I believe that if the woodchuck chucked the amount of wood that she sells seashells on the seashore divided by how many pickles Peter Piper picks would give us the true answer.

I am quoting the from the book, UNCLE JOHN'S BATHROOM READER PLUNGES INTO THE UNIVERSE.
Well, first, woodchucks certainly can chuck wood-researchers at Cornell who keep woodchucks in captivity report providing the creatures chunks of 2 x 4s for chucking (and chewing) amusement. the real question is whether they choose to.

By and large, woodchucks in the wild choose not to. Because, really, why would they? Woodchucks are also known by the other, more popular name of "groundhog," and indeed that second name is more appropriate, since groundhogs typically burrow into the ground, chucking out whatever they have to to build their living quarters (groundhogs are also known as "whistle pigs," a pretty dumb name for any animal, much less for one with two other perfectly good names.) The ground groundhogs excavate for their living quarters is typically comprised of dirt, and while there is probably some wood matter within that dirt, the overall amount of wood excavated is negligible.

However, a naturalist named Richard Thomas once took it upon himself to estimate how much wood a woodchuck would chuck, if the dirt he chucked for his burrow were replaced with wood. It turns out that the average woodchuck burrow is suprisingly roomy, since a woodchuck chucks about 35 cubic meters of dirt in the course of his building activates. A pile of wood with a volume of 35 cubic meters, Thomas estimated, would weigh about 700 pounds. That's a lot of wood chucking.

A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could, if a woodchuck could chuck wood. (:
