i'm not all into the " oh look at me i'm so fancy."horses and horse shows so i don't need a great looking horse. a sound friend will do just fine. and besides any horse is good looking!

Contact the county seat! Ag department normally have auctions monthly or quarterly. Animal control also has a large animal in pound and they can be sold cheaper.
The Horse rescue group also has horses with history for reasonable adoption rates, yet "you" are investigated before you can even bid on them. Also if your animal is only for pleasure, then that may be the best thing! Companion horses, mules, donkeys with conditions can be had for $100 or less.
Good luck! Your could always "foster" and have a tax right off as well.

I honestly would not get one that is under 350 dollars. It may be green, or have vices. Unless there is a really good reason for the horse being sold, (rider loses interest, people can no longer afford it, people don't have enough time) then I would look for one suitable for chilren and teens. They can be the best kind.

It rather relies upon the place you reside. the place i'm, it expenses $4 hundred-$800 a month to board. there are a number of components, like are you taking classes, does the pony want specific care, and so on. My superb estimate comes out to this: Board: $4800-9600/12 months Vet: $500-$1000/12 months for a healthful horse Farrier: $3 hundred+/12 months, reckoning on shoes or not, situation of hooves, and so on those are in simple terms the basics, however. you may upload up a lot of extra expenses with classes/preparation, feed (if not provided in board), products/products on your horse, tack, and so on. As exciting as that's to possess a horse, confirm you're able to do it financially. that's a huge dedication, and that i know this sounds preachy, yet I in simple terms went in the process the determination of regardless of if or to not purchase a horse and estimating the expenses.

Horses prices are not about beauty thay are priced according to their training. I am guessing you are a beginner (or you would know where to buy a cheap horse in your area) and a horse that is 350 is not usually rideable by a beginner. So if you find one at that price you may not be able to ride it.

i dont know what the prices are in ohio, but at a sale here last month, the most a horse went for was 1100, TWHBEA gelding that neckreined like crazy. great riding horses w/o papers were going for about 350.00. i would check local stockyards. i'm in north carolina, and if your willing to travel a ways, i KNOW you could get one at the sale for that. they ride all broke horses in front of the crowd, and all of them do really good, expecially w/ all the people. good luck, hope you find a new companion soon.

Why don't you consider adopting an ex-racehorse? Many of them are older, and some of them are well-trained. They have lesser adoption fees for those who are older as well.
Good luck!
