sign up for it. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. There were girls on my wrestling team. No one thought anything different about her. If they do to you it doesn't matter just beat them!!

It's more about being smart then being strong. You want to have strength, smarts, quickness. You just need to jog for an hour every day(in the morning is better, it's cooler.) Do either some push-ups of lift some weights that are not to light or to heavy. Read some books on how to wrestle. Go more for the back for a take down. You will have better control, because it is hard to control things behind you back when you can't see anything. Go for armlocks, leg locks, but don't hold them just use them as a quick move as a weakner, then take them down. If you are planning to do wrestling like TV, you may want to go for neckhold, or a armdrag. Just make sure you don't let them get in back of you if you are not paying attention. If you got him in a hold while he is on the ground, it would be good if you don't let him get to a vertical base. Make sure you can get a neckhold or arm hold while hes sitting down while on the ground and you behind him. It is very hard to counter a sitdown behiind move. I hope I was a help. Will you pick me as best answer. i never got a best answer. I would like to know having one would feel like.

I don't know about wrestling, but I used to be the only female boxer in my town and trust me when it comes down to it- guys don't want you in their gym It sux but you just have to take it. In the end though, if you can stick it out, it will make you a stronger person. I saw an episode of Made on MTV and this highschool guy wanted to be a wrestler, they brought in Kurt Angle and he said the only thing he wishes he would've done diff. in h.s. was take drama class. Its hard- please don't let anyone tell you any different. You will be covered in bruises, cuts, and theres always the chance of cauliflower ear. Not very attractive for a girl. Sometimes you have to know the diff. between being a fan and being on the team. Not trying to discourage you just please think of all the angles of this. If you want a look at a girl who made it in the WWE, read Lita's (Amy Dumas) book. She tells how she got her start and all the training and bs that went with it.Good Luck!

If you want it, go for it. Don't worry about what others have done before you, start training now and keep your eye on the ball. You said you need to get in shape so get a trainer and don't give up, it sounds like you have the desire and drive so don't let anyone take that away from you. Good luck.

you gotta go to a gym so you can work-out and get stronger first. then you should just go for it. If you don't make the team you will at least know you tried and if you do make it, good for you.

um.... I wrestled for three years. and ur problem shouldn't be weight training. what you need to do is to try to get mat time. strength is important, but whats more important is you need to get good technique.
