1856 for four people? That can be nasty with three of the players start out west and work together on routes, leaving the fourth out.

Yes! I have a group of 4 (a subset of my regular gaming group) that has decided to start playing 18xx monthly. We've all played a few times in the past, some more than others. Our July session was 1856 and it was great. Our next meeting will be on the 27th, but I don't yet know which one we'll be playing.

I think it sounds interesting, but none of my friends are into the heavier games yet. Maybe someday...
