Do I need a dvd player to use a gamecube or ps2 emulator in my computer??

You are using an emuilator to act like the console you are playing a game on. You need the ROM of that game placed on the computer for the emulitor to be able to find it and open it.
(The emulator acts like the console)
(the rom as the cd/dvd)
and
(the key board as a controller.)

for PS2 emulator u definitely need a dvd player. coz PS2 games are all dvd formated.
