i mean, you can give someone a cd and they can burn it and save it to there computer, so why can't you do that same thing, but using the internet?

no. limewire is not illegal. but it can be USED for illegal purposes, which most people use it for unfortunately.

Limewire itself is technically not illegal.
But there's no real way to prevent people from sharing legal stuff right along with the illegal stuff...
If it's a copyrighted song, then yes it is illegal to download it, and it wouldn't matter if you were using Limewire or some other file-sharing program.
Of course you could limit yourself to just downloading non-copyrighted stuff, but you can get that from other sources...
For example Amazon.com has a page of free downloads that the Authors of the songs have said can be shared for free.

Or you could just shell out the cash and buy the CD.

downloading certain things is illegal, yes. anything copyrighted (which isn't everything on there) is illegal to download. however, it doesn't give u viruses. i would have a good spyware blocker if i were u though

if you download stuff on it it's illegal, but it DOESN'T give you a virus... unlike that dolt that posted earlier, I've downloaded gigs of music and porn for over 3 years on it with no ill effects

yes, the songs are not licensed but it may not give u a virus
