If they like themselves, have pretty faces, are stylish, a bit of a figure, and sexy. And good people! Absolutely! But too big is simply unhealthy!

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. The operative word is "choice". People want to sugar coat it by saying it is hereditary. that they would be that fat no matter what they did. If that were the case, you would see at least a few fat people in Sub Saharan Africa where there is famine. and not the government folk who get all the aid money. But the poor folk who every ounce of food is live saving gold. No matter how few calories they got, if it was in the genes, they'd get fat anyhow. being fat is not like going bald or being short. Those things are just family traits and you really are stuck with them if you have that jean passed to you. One may have obtained the propensity to be fat easier, but the person has the choice on what to eat, how much exercises to do to keep the calories from becoming just fat. Most who have the tendency to be fat easier just don't want to do the extra work, or make the extra sacrifice over those who can seemingly eat anything. So, it is them who are ultimately at fault. I know all of them do not have a thyroid condition, or some other unique medical condition that precludes them to be as slender and smoking as Jessica Alba, Mariah Cary or or Halle Berry. they made the choice to look like Delta Burk, or Rosanne Barr because it was easier with less work.

I agree, people seem to assume that if a woman is over a certain size then she has let herself go, has no self-respect, etc and others seem to feel it is fair game to make very personal comments. Before anyone comments, yes, women who are regarded as underweight also get their (un)fair share of negative attention, as bmwgirl noted. Let's face it, society is becoming so obsessed with perfection that even Barbie is going to get a complex! I take it that some of the people making rude comments have never heard of thyroid conditions or taking steriods for medical reasons, or of polycystic ovary syndrome. Just remember that there is a clothing company called 1647 because 47% of the British female population is a size 16 or over. I agree with maynerdswife with regard to insulting commenters - remember that middle age spread catches us all and be considerate of others.

I know a girl at school that is really "big" for her age. And everyone makes fun of her. And it isn't her falt. She eats in small portions, and eats healthy food and exersizes when she has the time but nothing seems to be working out for her. I feel really bad for those types of people. I think "big" people are usually real nice and frendly. Besides, it doesn't matter who you are on the outside, but who you are in the inside! Don't worry about what other people say. The truth is, everyone has a problem about them too. Even if you can't see it. And one day a guy will see you for who you are and not what you look like.

Most people put on weight as they get older. The metabolism slows down. These young-ans will be twice the size with all the junk that they eat, today.

To all the ones who responded rudely, OVER 62% of you females and over 67% of you males will be OBESE adults. Just because in your youth you're lucky enough to be slim, don't assume that this is your fate. When the time comes that you're doing the SAME things you do now, but the pounds start pouring on, remember your rudeness...it'll come back to haunt you. Now be nice.
