Like I bought their CD and my mom thinks it is bad, dark, and the songs are about "wrong things, but on the other hand I LOVE their music. Is there anything really wrong with them... or is she just a really judgemental person or something like that? Give your opinion of them PLEASE.

Evanescence is my favorite band. They're coming out with a new CD called The Open Door on Oct. 3rd....To answer your question though -- No, there's nothing wrong with them. Yes, some of their music & lyrics are dark...but, it's life, you know?...Life isn't always rainbows & butterflies. Unfortunately, bad things happen, so, why not write about them as well?...A lot of people can't handle reality too well. Can't accept the fact that death, murder, suicide, rape, etc...does happen, & when someone writes a song & sings about it, they call it 'dark, morbid, bad, etc.' ..and it's not actually, it's just a part of life that many people would not like to hear about....That's my opinion...I suppose it could be difficult for children/young teens to understand...Personally, I believe their music is for adults. We can understand more clearly, & appreciate their work, & style, then again, there's also narrow-minded adults too....so go figure...

Sometimes people feel bad and dark. I would be interested in your mom's opinions, and ask her some of the songs she liked when she was your age. Ask her some songs she likes now. Tell her you like to listen to all ranges of music and emotion. I like the band, personally. Amy Lee's voice is phenomenal.

I like them. Looking forward to the new CD next month. Gonna sound a little different, I'm sure. Seeing that Ben Moody isn't in the band anymore. But Amy Lee has a great voice, so I'm sure it will be a great album.

Regardless of their look, Evanescence is not a dark group, and they do not "worship" satan or anything like that.......the reason for their dark look is that Amy Lee writes all of her music, and it is about her struggles as a woman and things that have happened to her in her life......The meaning of the word Evanescence is "something that is there for a moment and fades away", which i believe is in reference to Amy's lost loves and relationships in her life, which she talks about in some of her songs

in my view, i've got self belief Evanescence is an inspirational band. Amy's lyrics are significant and touching. inspite of the undeniable fact that sure Amy defiantly out shines the band individuals because of the fact they do no longer extremely attraction to me. i think of she might desire to surely do properly as being a single artist.,. yet they have not achieved plenty resent stuff so they're loosing followers...

omg i luvluvluv there stuff! Amy Lee has such a good voice... its scary! They arent necassarily dark, but i mean they definitly not happy pop or anything like that! (LOL that would be weird! 8^) My mom is really young and she actually introduced me to the band! I guess it all depends on who you ask! I like havent heard from them in 4evr! Whats a new song? ~~~~ Im 46 years old,,,,and I just bought her last CD,,,, I love her music,,,,its insightful,,,,she has a great voice,,,,,if you have your mom "really" listen to her music,,,,she may understand the music better,,,,,sometimes parents cant "hear" the words,,,they just here the "noise" ,,,,, let your mom "hear" the songs with you ,,,and let her know "why" you like the music,,,,,trust me,,,,you mom will understand,,,,,,

well i like there music too. some of it is too rocky tho and some do have weird lyrics. i like immortal.. bring me to life. and broken with seether. i love amy lee's voice. i think she is a very talented singer.
