She is flaky but it has been 40+ years and she was only in her 20's, a kid. Can you give up the anger? It might be good for you. Tell you what, you try an forgive Jane and I will try and forgive the scum that broke into our house and stole our jewelry. Not much value but it had been in the family for 80 years.

I was never angry at her in the first place. With that said, I watched her in a Charlie Rose interview where she said she regretted the visit to Vietnam. She stood by her antiwar belief but said she did regret taking it that far. So yes, she should be forgiven. She was charming and eloquent in the interview and had true remorse.

North Vietnam invited Hanoi Jane to visit them in nam. They got the PO W's all cleaned up and put cots in their rooms to make it appear they were going by the Geneva convention. she went down a line and shook hands with the troops. as they shook hands they gave her little pieces of paper to take back to the states for them. Instead of being an American and slipping them into her pocket she handed them over to the **** in charge. when she left the cots were removed and those that slipped her the notes were repeatedly tortured. I'm sorry for what the thief did to your family. I know what it feels like to have some thing so sentimental taken from you. These guys were beaten and tortured and starved. any one on here who thinks that it was her right to do what she thought was ok, has completely lost their mind or have no clue about what the war was like. I'm a wife of a disceased Vietnam vet. How do you think I feel?

Sure, I'd 'forgive her' & wanna 'forget her'!
In addition to the anti-war protests, 'Barbarella' was an insult to humanity.
I'll always be ashamed of her! Can you imagin poor Henry!
She ranks right up there with Orca as a auto gag reflex!
Flaky is an understatement.
She's still a spoilt brat that needs to dry up & blow away.
Sad about the break in.

That was a very long time ago and i was like 10 it meant as much to me then as it does now . Nada

I can completely sympathize with you on family heirlooms being snatched by scum. We had some stuff stolen that had been in the family like 60 years. It wasn't the value of the items but the sentimental value that means more then money.

Keep smiling

Forgive her for questioning the U.S.and its goals in Vietnam? Is it not a core belief that "freedom of speech" is a fundamental right of a U.S. resident? Whats to forgive? She spoke against an unpopular war. Many a brave person gave the ultimate sacrifice of their life in an effort to curb communism. J. Fonda was simply doing what she felt was her duty and right under U.S. law by speaking against something that SHE felt was unjust.

I can forgive, but I'm having trouble forgetting. Maybe that means I haven't completely forgiven, but sometimes it's hard to bring heart and mind into alignment. Tough question & I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Monetary value doesn't matter, what matters is that the items were irreplacable.

I don't think there are a whole lot of people who think about Jane Fonda either way. I'm 28. I know she pissed some people off and it had something to do with Vietnam(I think), but that's all I know. I don't think a lot of people care anymore.

YES I can forgive her,
,that was along time ago ,
she was young and doing her part to protest a needless war.
all the deaths in Vietnam where for nothing and they finally got some peace when the US pulled out.
It's ashamed it every happened,,just like in Iraq

The only difference between Jane and other young protesters was her money and fame. She could afford to do what she did. Go find most of thise kids now, 2/3rds of them are old neocons now. Raised there kids that way too. Who are these generations to forgive her anyway, lok at the mess our president and gov't have got us into and he's damm well old enought to know better.

LOL. The fact you mentioned the break-in to your house tells us that you have NOT forgiven them. And that's just for property. Jane Fondle is responsible for countless deaths of American soldiers. I WILL NEVER FORGET HER, AND SHE CAN GO TO HELL!!!!
