Try heating the affected area with a hair dryer, this may soften the residue. Apply new tape to the residue and lift old glue off. be careful using chemicals ,they can damage plexiglass.

hot soapy watter and a lint free cloth
the hot watter will soften the adhesive so you can pull off the tape and the soap keeps adhesive from rehearing basic dish soap will work fine just use a lot ( enough so you can feel the soap in the watter ) with the cloth wet scrub of the gum and your all goo
chemical cleaners may cause hazing

Did You try putting the goo gone direct on the tape and let it set for awhile? This always works for me. it takes several try's to get
off. -------- Jim

They make some stuff called goop that takes off tape and price tags off of things. Lighter fluid will work too.

I've used "contact/brake cleaner". Test it first to make sure it won't damage your plexiglass. You can get it at auto parts stores.
