I read recently that doubts lay over Gabriela Szabo's 5000m Olympic Record, set by her in the Sydney Olympics where she narrowly beat the Irish Olympiad Sonia O' Sullivan! Can anyone clarify the situation for me???

No such thing happened. Szabo was never caught cheating and never failed the doping test.
Sonia O'Sullivan broke her Irish record but was denied the Olympic gold medal by old foe Gabriela Szabo in a classic 5,000 metres confrontation in Stadium Australia.
O'Sullivan said: "Szabo caught me by surprise. I was so shocked when she pulled away. I definitely thought I'd win it. But she was stronger and got the extra inch on me.
