I liked Uncle Wiggly stories (they are a collection of stories about a rabbit that can understand humans but can't speak - they are morals lessons but very touching; ex. a little girl hates having freckles and is trying to scrub hers off when the little rabbit leads her to group of speckled eggs that she sees are beautiful thereby realizing that she might be beautiful too) As an adult I know they are corny but I can't help but love the zany style of the writing and the endearing message of love and acceptance.

It was a compilation of Mother Goose rhymes. Unfortunately I don't recall the actual name of the book because I'd love to read it to my kids.
