First of all being gay is Not a mental disease. Secondly, who cares whether it is socially acceptable or not? People should be true to who they are. As long as how you live your life doesn't hurt other people society shouldn't have a problem with it. The truth is there are plenty of things that "society" has shunned in the past that is now acceptable. What about interracial dating? ok. well im gay and i dont think its a diseas. honestly there are many people who just dont agree..."they're called homophobes"... but most people are ok with it. although to the parents its heart breaking at first. still its socially acceptable for most people. it just depends on their state of mind.
