The wife of your father is your step mother.
Generally, step parents, and in-laws (she would technically be both) are considered to be stainless steel Bznatches.
WTF is she nagging you about? you've got a man, and kids of your own... You've got your own place, don't you? and you're standing on your own two feet financially, right? If so, she should back off. If not, well, then pretty much anyone has a right to nag you if you're 32 years old, married with kids, and still dependant on your parents.
Tell her nice like that you're glad she married your daddy because she makes him happy, but YOU never asked her to be your mother, and you aren't ready for her to act like that right now. Step family relations take a long time to become accepted, and since you're (hopefully) independant, she's going to have to find someone else to baby and boss.
When you tell her, be sure to pretty much use none of my words, since they're all a bit harsh. Remeber, you've got two ears, but only one voice. Don't say anything that might cause you to loose it. After all, as much as you dislike this woman, I'm sure your dad married her for a reason, and it's not because you two get along so well together.

There are some woman that can really play the damsel in destress act. Chances are she is doing all this in hopes that it is causing problems between you two. The sad thing some of the excuses they come up with to call are so stupid, everyone should be able to see right through them. One of my friends ex-wife called constantly saying things were wrong with their kids, he would go running because he was concerned about the kids, one day she called him at work because the child had a splinter in his finger and she had no idea how to get it out (please a moron knows how to to do that)...another time it was because the kid was picking his nose and got a nost bleed and she "just didn't know what to do". The fact that she claimed that she had the wrong number when you answered your husband's phone shows how immature she is. She is just trying to give you a reason to be suspecious of your husband. I wouldn't confort her because then she knows that she is making you made and that could possibly start even more phone calls but I would have a serious talk with you husband. Sometimes women don't want what they have (your husband) until they are gone.

You can regard her as your step mom, because technically she is. But, that does not give her the right to tell you anything in a nagging fashion. I have a step dad, I am only 21 and he has been my step dad for 4 years. However, I made it clear that he had no authority whatsoever over me. I will regard his opinions, and will respect him, but step parents are not parents. That's just how I feel.

You can call her whatever you want, she was never really your 'mother', since you were an adult before she came into your life. But calling her stepmom, rolls off the tongue easier then my dad's wife.
Either way, what you call her is not going to change her behavior, which seems to be the bigger problem.

That is totaly up to you. I think it doesn't count because you are older then 18...If you don't like the women then don't think of her as your step mom and tell her in a nice way to stop acting like your moml.....Stand up for your self......it will work out in the end...i might also try asking your dad if he expects you to act like she is your mom. See what he says. Most likly he will be on your side and tell you that u don't have to if u don't want to.

Depends on how old she is. If she's around your Dad's age then yes, you can refer to her as your stepmom. But if you don't feel comfortable with that talk it over with her. Just be glad your Dad has someone in his life ...

Humor her. She is just trying to be accepted into your family. She means no harm. She can be regarded as anything you want her to be, but "stepmom" is fine. Make her feel a part, if she is good for your Dad.

You could just refer to her as your dad's wife - that sort of makes her once removed from being related to you. And you can just call her by her first name - you are under NO obligation to refer to her as "mom."

That is usually the case that your fathers new wife would be your step mom. Try and let her know that you are an adult and would be appreciated if she would treat you as such. It could be that she is only trying to help though. She probably means well.

Yes, technically she is your step-mom. But since you are an adult you don't have to listen to her.
