It's hard to answer your question without more information. Do you have pressure in the fuel system? Have you checked fuses for the ignition and fuel systems? Your ignition (key) switch could be the problem but there are also several other possibilities from your description and it would be tough to write up something for them all.

If you're not comfortable digging into this, you'll need to take it to a good mechanic. Keep in mind that the 1987 924 has the same engine as the 1987 944. It's really a pretty good car.

I had a 924 and I know it may sound simple & silly, but check your ground wire on your battery. They were prone to being faulty. I was having trouble w/mine, replaced the ground and things were find. Mid-America is a good place to find OEM and repo parts.

Good luck

Call MacGuyver. He can fix it with a bottle of hairspray, a Bic lighter a rubber band and an old magazine.

probely just a bad coil but if i were you i would invest in a multi reader in stead of grounding it out it could cause damage to a lot of things even your self

This vehicle is not for the DIY mechanic I would recommend you take it to a mechanic who specializes in Porsche!
