Xbox 360.
I still don't understand those fan boys that are still all hung up on how great the PS2 was. The 360 does have problems, but so does every video game system when it is first launched. Every person I know that owns a PS2 can either not play DVD's or CD's. (It happened to two of mine).
The Least expensive PS3 will cost the same as the combined price of both a 360 and a Wii. Plus it's on a new format, and Playstation is notorious for making their systems impossibly hard to program. I also doubt that people are going to be willing to recreate their whole DVD library with Blu-Ray anyway (since it is not backwards compatible with DVD's). Especially considering that the majority of people don't have HDTV's anyway. HD-DVD will be coming out soon enough, and will be backwards compatible with all current DVD's.
Most importantly, the best games for any system are generally the ones that are made for all. Therefore, the quality of the games can only be as good as the weakest system. And for that person that said "Just think about how great Oblivion could have been on Blu-ray!" They don't make games that fill the entire DVD, so the extra space is more or less useless.
There are a lot of big risks with the PS3, nobody knows how well the cell will work, nobody knows how the blu-ray drive will perform, and Microsoft is planning a price drop around the time the PS3 is released, so I think that about covers it, Xbox 360 all the way.

If you are looking for a really fun time, get the Wii. It's not just button mashing and frustration. It's literally a Pick-Up-And-Play type of thing. However... If you are looking for awesome graphics, PS3. Not only do you get outstanding graphics, but it comes with blue-ray disc drive. Which normally, the blue-ray disc players alone are $1,000+ Don't listen to the people who talk about the Cons of the PS3's, they could be hardcore 360 fan's spreading rumors. The 360 does also have next-gen graphics, but not as good as the PS3's. 360 does have a lot of great games to purchase. (i.e Gears of War, Deadrising and Halo 3). But don't judge a console by the games. Personally I've never been a fan of Xbox. (probably because my friend complains about his) Well, there you go :) P.S Have fun with the Wii, cause as of now, I'm looking for 1!!!

I have to say Xbox 360 because that is the only one I have seen so far. It has really good graphics and the PS3 is really expensive.

First off, the Nintendo Wii is not stupid. How can you not admit that their crappy design of a remote is pure genius! ...*cough-it sucks-cough*.
Anyway, I say get the PS3. Don't get me wrong, both systems rock. I have a 360 myself for FFXI Online. But if you can only get one, get the PS3. Nothing says gaming like Solid Snake blowing up stuff. ..But then again you could do that with the Wii for half the price on Smash Bros. Brawl, but you don't care about that, right? :)

PS3 is the best
Xbox 360 and the Wii is the suckest and the ugliest video games console in the world, but I hate the Wii the most, do you have Playstation Magazines, the publishers make cool games for Sony, and Sony make cooler games for its own, too.

PS3 will use Bluray discs not DVDs... so will be FAR superior to the XBox...
People who picked up an Xbox wasted their money.
1 BluRay Disc = something like 50 DVDs as far as storage space... Imagine Oblivion on a blueray disc?
PS3 is a FAR superior game system...
As far as GAMES are concerned it depends on your style, the XBox does more sports games I think than PS does...
In short, buy a PS3... XBox 360 will be outdated by bluray.
