I think a has-been anyone is sad, but an athlete who can no longer compete is probably the most sad. An actor or musician can probably do other things, but an athlete (though he/she can also change to another job or interest), will feel the loss more keenly because success is intertwined with the body's ability to perform. Somehow your body feels more "you" that is failing to continue on successfully.

well it depends on wether the person was good at what he did
i think athlete
besides...
you can still buy albums of old mucisians
watch the actors old movies or whatever
but you might not see a was athlete in action again

Musician because once they lose it then they try and act or make clothes or perfume and stuff
