In my opinion, it's going to be Blu-Ray. I don't think that HD-DVD has created as much noticeable difference as Blu-Ray.

My fiance and I are electronics nerds, so we have talked about this a lot. We were in Best Buy about a week ago, and while Blu-Ray has the front-and-center showcase, HD-DVD has been relocated to the back, next to the old DVD players. I just think that Blu-Ray is the leader, despite the higher price.

well in quality blu-ray no question price and availability hd-dvd but i agree that sooner or later they will make a player that plays both. i mean it'll be kinda hard since they need to use two different lenses and put the right firmware to operate both blu-ray and hd-dvd

Quite honestly, I think that sooner or later DVD player manufacturers will come out with players that will play either of the two formats. It may take awhile, but eventually the price will go down as well. If it were me, I'd hold off buying either technology right now until the fur stops flying.

It really depends on who puts out the better movies/players.
