For example, I've learned that the Religion/Spirituality forum often brings out the extremists in us. People who pose intelligent questions and give insightful answers suddenly become either crass or defensive when writing in that forum. Sadly, I must admit to being crass or flippant. Something for me to watch for in the future...or just stay out of the forum altogether.

When I bought my computer last year in the month of September 2005, I did not know how to switch it on. I learnt a lot from yahoo answers. I learnt html language and now I am learning other programming languages also. Yahoo answers helped me in earning thru internet. All these motivated me also to help others in solving their problems and now whenever I find time. I come to answer questions on this website. It will not be exaggeration, if I say that yahoo answers has proved to be a boon for me.

We get addicted to yahoo answers due to many reasons. We get knowledge, teaching, learning , fun, entertainment, current affairs, current attitudes of the people all over the world, current needs of the people current socioal changes and many more other things; all under one roof of yahoo answers. Moreover, the point system on this site gives recognition to the user's participation. So, all these make us addicted to this site and we are transformed into an answerholic.

The purpose of Yahoo! Answers is to provide a platform to its users to share their knowledge with other participants, have fun, entertainment, teaching - learning, current social changes, current needs of the people, current attitudes of the people all over the world and many more other things; all under one roof of Yahoo! Answers. A person faces many such problems in real life which sometimes, he finds difficult to solve in his own circle. This platform removes that barrier. He is welcome by Yahoo Anwerholics and is helped in solving his problem. As for as return out of answering is concerned, yahoo gives recognition only to the user's participation in the form of points. These points dont get any tangible thing for him. It shows recognition to his participation only.

mostly what I've learned is more a confirmation of prior suspicion, that as a whole,with a few exceptions. This world's general masses are childish and for the most part ignorant. Very few seem to have any real grasp of understanding on any topic that they discuss. Most seem to read what others write and simply agree or disagree. While a greater number are just full of mindless babble!

Mainly that our school system, in general, is not doing the job ., Inadequate funding can't be the main reason, there must be other reasons for the general dumbing-down of America.
Also, I learned that politics and religeon are the two 'hottest' topics addressed herein.

Well, I don't mess with the religious section, but from participating on yahoo answers, I've seen even more how closed-minded and sarcastic people can be, just because they can.

I've learned that some ppl are really resourceful and some are really sarcastic. And, that I didn't know how much I cared about what damn level I'm at.

ive noticed that there are way to many children on yahoo answers. im waiting to learn that yahoo has made a yahoo answers for adults. wouldnt that be nice.?
