There is a degree of Free Will we all have and can exercise. However there are necessary duties and obligations we must follow, such as the aforementioned taxes. Though in some countries a person is free and has political rights, the nation imposes for the mutual benefit, taxes, etc... I dont know if anyone wants to do this, but does so for their own benefit to some degree.

It's not all the time true... There are times it's not true but most of the time, it is... Of course, it's your own life, you can do anything even if you want to try and ruin it. That is the TRUE part, but if what you're doing would arrive to being a nuisance to someone else's life, that is the time it becomes NOT TRUE. Did you get it?

Well, technically everybody is free to do anything they want; however, there are consequences for their actions and inactions. For instance, I was summoned for jury duty a few weeks ago, and if I failed to show up, I would have been fined (you could even face imprisonment, depending on your jurisdiction). The same thing applies to paying taxes... while you can opt not to pay, you are LEGALLY obligated to pay income tax, property tax, and (in most states) sales tax. Also, while a lot of people dread having to work, they realize they have to in order to survive and live a comfortable lifestyle.

how do you know what you dont want to do until you try?

it's all about the various compromises that we must make every day just to survive.
to give you an extreem but valid example if you dont want to pay for the goods or services you use then you could be arrested for theft, which could lead to other consequences you may not wish to happen that day.

it's suprising how accomodating people can be when you compromise

For the most part, yes. But when it comes to things like selective service, and going to jail when you commit a crime, then you really don't have a choice in the matter.

Sometimes, there are things you do not want to do but you simply have to. For example, seeing a doctor to treat your illness or attending a court hearing because you were sued or vice-versa.
