HECK NO.

And that answer goes to all celebrities, entertainment world and sports stars.

I'm telling you, it will be the undoing of America, the way we worship our "idols".

Look at the trash that it has led to that is played in the theaters and on tv. It started with Beav and Butt heads, and know what? MTV has a cartoon with black girls apparently being dogs. South Park is trash...all the popular junk is trash, but people love it.

Guys in the NFL not going to training camp because a rookie is bickering over a few million dollars.

I'm a teacher. Give me one tenth of one percent of that and I will be happy. Somewhere along the way something has gone horribly wrong, and I think it started with free agency.

Great, I was in a good mood, now I'm __________. Fill in the blank for yourself.

Mark my words...the downfall of America will be in part due to this factor. Maybe not right away, but eventually.

Well, deserve or not, supply and demand curves decide what NFL players make. As far as my opinion, I think that without the high salaries and the fierce competition for contracts and money, the quality of NFL games would be like the XFL games, which were not worth watching. So in short, if anyone wants to watch a good NFL game, I think it's a necessary evil.

Do the players deserve the money? They do commit most of their everyday life to training and game preparation, and they do put their bodies through a lot on gameday. And they do get my attention all throughout football season. SoI would have to say yes.

However, you do have to consider how much companies pay them for endorsements. Since I don't put much faith in celebrity/athlete endorsements and don't let them decide what I buy, I would have to say that they do not deserve that money. Just think, if companies didn't pay so much for endorsements, that money might show up as savings for us consumers.

Yes.
What are you basing your opinion on what they are making?
There are very few guarenteed contracts in the NFL,so when you read in the paper about these multi year/mega million $ contracts, chances are it will be renegotiated or the player will be released before the contract ends.
As someone above pointed out NFL players have a very short career due to the brutal nature of the game, they must get payed while they can.

Absolutely, for several reasons. Number one, its a business and they are the main reason for the NFL business. Plus they are a very small percentage of people who can do what they do.
And also the NFL does not have guaranteed contracts and their careers are shorter than other sports. You can be a stud bowl player, but if you get hurt your career is over. If you signed a long term contract the owners are allowed to rip it up and they are then absolved from having to pay you and the player is SOL.

I'm not going to play the "they put their body's on the line every Sunday card" however, with that being said, in the NFL they do not guarantee contracts. that means if you sign a 5 year 25 million dollar deal and you blow your knee out the first game the franchise does not have to pay the remainder of your contract. so you if you did not get a nice signing bonus you're in a world of you know what. not to mention the fact that the owners sit in their luxury boxes, never play a snap, and make 20 times the amount of their best player. put it this way when i go to work i try to make as much as i possibly can while im their

Difficult question, but I would say that they do deserve the money they make. Their job is very dangerous, and the average NFL players only plays 3 years. I think they're compensated appropriately...with one exception. Rookies. They get way too much for way too little...

No, i think they should be paid very well, but not to the extent of what they do. They are VERY talented and are able to perform what most people can't. However i think the money should be put elsewhere, teaching, schools and all the stuff that will NEVER get the proper funding. but that's my opinion. However manny lawson is a bad a** :o)

I agree that the patriots and colts have both suited offensive lines in the present day. They both provide their quarterbacks a large era of time to throw the ball and look after the d-linemen for his or her operating backs, with a view to get into the secondary. Judging from what I spoke of the day previous to this, i believe that the Pat's o-line is fairly more effective acceptable the Colt's o-line. keep in recommendations, the suited offensive line isn't unavoidably the only with the suited crew of gamers, besides the undeniable fact that the only which performs the suited at the same time.

First of all, yes because can you or anyone you know do the stuff they can do. Probly not. Secondly, this is pure capitolism, if youre offered more money, of course youre gonna accept more money. Also, since on anyplay their careers can end the should be able to keep their family healthy and happy for ever.

Yes, only because what the owners are making of them. There would be no NFL without them obviously. The owners make way more than the athletes, it's only fair.
