I have not "taken" any courses but have been "studying " astronomy since the mid sixties.,. I have always been a space race nut. My "studying" has led to jobs of assisting the observers at a prestigious university observatory, giving local sky shows at a prestigious planetarium, even gave a special show on a Sunday and was accredited with getting the first standing ovation. I have also given talks to local school classrooms here in seacoast new hampshire. So depends on what you want to learn. If you want to discuss the quantum physics, string theories, and how to prove einstein was right or wrong go to school of some kind. If you want to learn for yourself, like was answered before, ask. Or just lean, and study and do (experiments) on your own.
